As a family owned business, we pride ourselves on our involvement in the community. We've participated in the Nacogdoches Wine Swirl and the Texas Blueberry Festival. We have an adopted highway through the Texas Department of Transportation and clean our two-mile stretch four times a year, often in collaboration with student volunteers from SFA. We participate as a vendor at the Nacogdoches Farmers Market, which is a nonprofit organization. We are happy to share the story of Naca Valley Vineyard and the winemaking process to organizations and civic groups.
Naca Valley Vineyard is involved annually as a winery participant showcasing our wines at Wine Swirl, a fund-
raising event to benefit Main Street Nacogdoches. In the past, we volunteered to photograph the events for local media and for the Main Street Facebook page. One of our favorite fun projects was to design, build and paint a wine glass/grape cluster photo cutout board for photographing the patrons at the event. The NVV team participated in the Berry Vine Evening event at one of the Texas Blueberry Festivals, which is hosted by the Nacogdoches Chamber of Commerce every June. The volunteer project was to serve free homemade ice cream with scrumptious blueberry topping at the Heart of Texas gift gallery downtown.
In support of local artists and craftspersons, Naca Valley Vineyard will showcase the works of regional artists, craftspersons and artisans in the tasting room. The wood crafted tables, wine display racks and more, which are made family member Kemit Mouton, are also on permanent display. Specific items on exhibit are available for the public to purchase.
